Fly Fishing Instruction

This is the best one day instructional program for learning to fly fish! It involves one on one personalized instruction in the morning learning the knots, gear selection, entomology, fly selection, and casting techniques. In the afternoon you will be on the stream involved with reading the water, wading strategies, and putting everything you have learned into action catching fish. Rod, reel, waders, and boots are provided. A bag lunch is also included.

Fly Tying Instruction

This involves 90 minute sessions held once a week and runs for six weeks in the fall, winter, and spring. Classes for both beginners and intermediate tying are scheduled. All materials are provided. Call and inquire concerning dates, times and location.

Fly Casting Instruction

For beginners who have started to fly fish and need to cover the casting techniques more in depth, we offer Fly Casting Instruction. It includes instruction on the basic distance cast, roll cast, and special casting situations.

Consignment Program

On occasion we have customers who ask us to display their rods, reels, and other fishing equipment for sale on consignment. This is a good opportunity to buy quality used equipment at a reasonable, agreeable price.

Custom Fly Tying Program

One Fly Outfitters, Ltd. offers to tie as a service to our customers, special custom fly patterns. Minimum orders must not be less than a dozen flies. Prices vary depending on the fly pattern chosen. This is a good opportunity to get some of your special hard to get, local, or custom patterns tied for you. We will need a full description or example in order to process your order. Specialty Fly Selection

Planning a trip to our Mountains or the Tennessee Tailwaters? Why not have us prepare an assortment of flies for these locations. We can prepare a selection of flies, with or without a fly box, and can either ship this to you or hold for pickup. Contact store for further details and pricing.

Guide Trip Transportation for Campground and Out-of-Town Lodging

Several campgrounds are available within the Black Mountain area. If you would like to schedule a fly fishing trip with us we can pick you up and drop you off at your camping location. There is no need to unhook your camper and travel to us. If you are camping or lodging in another area outside Black Mountain near one of our stream locations we can either pick you up or meet you at a mutually convenient location.

Fish Replication Taxidermy Services

One Fly Outfitters, Ltd. has contracted with an individual who performs taxidermy services. Why not have that picture of your trophy trout portrayed as a mount to display in your home, office, or cabin? Include the length and girth dimensions along with a picture and a replica will be made to represent your fish. Contact store for further details and costs.

Fishing Lodge Rental

This premier trophy water lodge is located on 75 private acres with abundant wildlife and fishing opportunities. It has a ¾ to 1 mile section of trophy trout water on the Watauga River in Eastern Tennessee.

With 5 bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms, this lodge is perfect for corporate groups, reunions, fishing clubs, large family groups or friends who just want a great fishing experience. The lodge can be rented for weekend getaways or week-long vacations.
