Meet Our Staff!

Kenny is co-owner and has worked as a guide and in retail the past 25 years. Since his childhood, he and his father, who was born in the Little Cataloochee Valley and whose relatives Palmer Creek was named after, would fly fish all over the Smoky's and Western North Carolina.

Kenny and his partner won the first ever 2003 Southeastern Fly Fishing Master's competition sponsored by OLN and continued to represent our area in the national 2003 Fly Fishing Masters. He has been featured in Our State Magazine. He is considered one of the topmost fishing guides in the area to go to whether fishing our mountain streams or the renowned tailwaters in Eastern Tennessee. He is most knowledgeable concerning the fly fishing industry.

Susan is co-owner and grew up in the Black Mountain area. As a Biology teacher, she is passionate about the outdoors and has been fly fishing since 1992. She works in the store when she isn't teaching. Susan attended Joan Wulff's Fly Casting Instructor's school in 2007. She is involved with planning instructional programs and guides in her spare time.

Jerry is a native Western North Carolinian who has been fly fishing all his life. He has a love of both our local streams and our local bluegrass music. He is perfectly at home guiding on our small mountain streams and our Tennessee tailwaters. Jerry's wealth of knowledge about fishing and Bluegrass music will certainly keep you entertained. Jerry is also a musician and hosts "Goin' Across the Mountain" on WNCW Radio every Saturday afternoon.

Keith is a native of Waynesville, NC. His great grandfather was one of the original pioneers that settled Hazel Creek, considered one of the best trout streams in the Smokies. Keith has been fascinated by clear mountain streams and trout since he was a kid. He has been fly fishing for over 40 years. Keith loves wading and floating the South Holston and Watauga tailwaters in Tennessee. Some of his other interests include stone masonry, skiing, painting, bluegrass guitar, and cycling. Keith loves sharing his knowledge of fly fishing with others, especially out on the stream with fly rod in hand!
